Our founding team of Rich Houk and Larry Strunk gained experience during their careers with a professional services firm that reached a peak of 350 employees located in 13 offices. Upon the dissolution of the engineering firm, the team began seeking opportunities to serve the technology and computing needs of small and medium businesses. At the same time, the accounting firm of Baird Cotter & Bishop was interested in shoring up their IT infrastructure. When we put our minds together, the result was the creation of a Technology Division at Baird Cotter & Bishop with the expertise of Rich and Larry leading the way. The Technology Division grew and in 2016 the Technology Division was spun off of Baird Cotter & Bishop to form a separate and independent company, Cogent Technology Solutions, principally owned and operated by Rich Houk. In mid 2016, Tim Anderson joined the team bringing experience in helpdesk and other IT support. Today the team supports over 20 clients primarily in Northern Michigan.
